Gardeners and other lovers of fresh produce are often interested in extending the season's bounty by learning more about home-preserving fruits and vegetables.
Now they can by attending a freezing and canning workshop presented by Ohio State University Extension, Mahoning County.
The workshop focuses on the basics of home canning and preservation and is appropriate for people with all levels of experience.
The event takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. July 23 at McMahon Hall, Mill Creek Metro Parks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield.
The cost for the class is $10, and spots can be reserved by calling Mahoning County OSU Extension at 330-533-5538.
