Victorian Players stage original script by Boardman playwright

June 5, 2014
The Town Crier

The Victorian Players will stage an open reading of an original script by local actor and playwright Terry Shears 2 p.m. Saturday at 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.

The two-act farce, "Role with the Punches," revolves around the backstage bickering of the fictional fictional Smokestack Players of Youngstown, as they struggle to put on the Victorian melodrama ''Miss Weevil's Whimsy.''

Incompetence, stage egos, and a healthy dose of the unexpected combine to make the companys production an utter catastrophe.
