Hadley earns Athlete of Year

On May 21, the Federal League released its honors list for track, which included a good representation from the Boardman track team. The league honored junior Mark Hadley as Federal League Male Athlete of the Year

Named to Federal League First Team honors in boys track, with their respective events were: senior William Birchfield, 110-meter hurdles; senior Nathan Jones, 100 meter; junior Mark Hadley, 1600 meter and 3200 meter.

Named to Federal League Second Team honors in boys track, with their respective events were: junior Alan Burns, 1600 meter; junior Turel Thompson, 100 meter; junior Ivan Adu-Poku, 100 meter; junior Brian Bodrick, 100 meter; and senior Nathan Jones, 100 meter and 200 meter.

Earning Federal League Honorable Mention were: Hadley, 800 meter; Burns, 800 meter; junior Justin Maroni, 800 meter; junior Jacob Kelleck, 800 meter; Adu-Poku, 200 meter; freshman Brendon Lucas, 200 meter; junior Darius Sanders, 200 meter; and Bodrick, 200 meter.

From the girls team, those named to the Federal League First Team, with their respective events, were: senior Daisy Robinson, shotput; senior Giovanna Silvestri, discus; and senior Sarina Mauerman, pole vault.

Named to Federal League Second Team was Silvestri in shotput.

Receiving Federal League Honorable Mention were junior Morgan Hambrick in high jump and senior Robinson in discus.
