Spartans clash and split

The Boardman Middle School boys and girls basketball teams faced off on the court on Monday, Dec. 3, with a split decision on both ends.

In boys' action, Glenwood's seventh-graders beat Center 45-40 in the opening game of the season. Leading the scoring attack for Glenwood was Antonio Page with 14 points, followed by Holden Lipke, Brian Terlesky and Jarod Wilson, who each chipped in seven. Billy Cammack and Noah Falleti each scored five points.

The eighth-graders from Center took the win, 42-38, for their home debut. The team was lead in scoring by J.R. Ryan with 14 points.

On the girls' side, Glenwood's eighth-graders started the season with a 39-12 win. Lauren Pavlansky led the way scoring 27 points and two steals. Center's seventh-graders downed Glenwood, 41-14.
