Bob McAuliffe, who is project manager with the Hammond Co. building our new schools, was guest speaker at the Sept. 24 meeting of the Rotary Club of Austintown. His role is liaison between the school and the state, checking completion and billing issues, making sure money is being spent properly. McAuliffe said he is enjoying this project, and mentioned the soil problem encountered that was unknown in the planning stages, which dated back to the early '60s when the housing developments were using some of the land as a rubble dump, had to be removed to allow road building to proceed. Austintown Rotary Club President Ron Carroll presented McAuliffe with a library book to be a gift from the club to the Woodside School library.
