Boardman Fire Department will host a Fire Safety open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the fire station located at 136 Boardman-Poland Road. The event is sponsored by the International Association of Fire Fighters local 1176 and is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be provided as well as activities including a tour of the fire station, a live burn demonstration, a smoke house, an extrication demonstration, fire extinguisher training and fire safety tips.
Children will receive free helmets, stickers and coloring books. Additionally, firefighters will be selling "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" T-shirts as a fund-raiser for breast cancer awareness.
