Boardman School’s meal distribution moves to high school

April 1, 2020

Boardman Local Schools will hold meal distributions on Monday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Boardman High School parking lot.

The location has been moved to a single point of distribution at BHS to more efficiently serve Boardman families, reduce wait times in line, and to avoid the traffic congestion occurring at West Blvd. and Robinwood.

"This will be our regular spot for food distribution until the kids come back to school, or we run out of food," said Boardman Food Service Supervisor Natalie Winkle.

Mondays are busy at Boardman High School as lunches are put together for the drive-up program for Boardman parents.

All children, regardless of income from the ages of 1-18 are eligible for meals: 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches for the week. Children should be present during pick up.

Again, meal distribution runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or as long as supplies last. This will be a drive-thru type of pickup so families will not congregate in lines.

"We will hand out meals from doors 8 and 9 of the High School," Winkle said.

She said 7,750 meals were handed out at the last distribution on Monday, March 23.

Any questions on the program, call the Boardman Schools at 330-726-3404. This institution, the Boardman Local Schools, is an equal opportunity provider.
