Farmers National Bank is opening a new, innovative and technology-leading branch with its Lab Branch, slated to open in late spring 2020 in Canfield.

Located at 4538 Boardman-Canfield Road, near the Route 11 ramps, the Lab Branch will serve as the new home for all of the bank's emerging technology and customer service initiatives, including Interactive Teller Machines (ITM) is the lobby and drive thru.

"At Farmers, we remain committed to developing a culture of innovation, and this Lab Branch helps us achieve just that. We'll be able to evaluate and adopt new technologies at a faster pace to stay ahead of these innovations in banking technology," Kevin J. Helmick, President and CEO of Farmers, said.

The branch will feature new interactive teller machines, along with a more relaxed atmosphere and coffee bar to encourage engagement with bankers and customers. All of this brings the focus back on the customer experience, which is at the heart of the community bank's mission. In addition, the feedback received from customers at the Lab Branch will aid in the rolling out of these new technologies bank wide. The Canfield Main Branch will also offer the ITMs as a drive-thru option.

"We wanted to approach the retail banking experience in a new way, and this Lab Branch gives us the opportunity to interact with consumers, walk them through new technology, forge those relationships with digital innovators and complement the bank's digital strategy through technology and collaboration," Amber Wallace, Executive Vice President, Chief Retail/Marketing Officer, said.

The Lab Branch will replace operations at the Canfield Plaza Branch, which is scheduled to close in late spring 2020.
