It's never too early to think about career exploration. Eighth graders at Poland Middle School took part in a day dedicated to career exploration on Jan. 31.

The day started off with a visit to the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.

When students returned to Poland Middle School they heard from professionals in fields like pharmacy, nursing, forensic science, education, fashion merchandising and construction.

Guest speakers talked with students about their profession, why they got into their field, the education required, and what a typical day is like. Students also had a chance to ask speakers questions.

While Career Day was going on for eighth grade students, seventh grade students took part in Junior Achievement It's My Future Career Day. Students learned about soft skills, branding, and different career pathways.
