Boardman Reverse Raffle Dinner tickets available

February 13, 2019
The Town Crier

Boardman's Annual Reverse Raffle Dinner is set for Friday, March 8, at Avion Banquet Center on Western Reserve Road. It's the main fundraiser for the Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence (BSFEE), which every year hands out teacher mini-grants that make a huge impact in Boardman classrooms.

BSFEE board members Edie Davidson and Lynda Beichner recently visited an eighth grade classroom at Glenwood Junior High and learned about their new augmented reality sandbox. It was the dream of science teacher Allison Herman, who received a BSFEE grant for $1,500 last year. Students learn about erosion, topography and geological concepts through this virtual reality/interactive sandbox. They literally see the results of moving mountains.

"There is no doubt, that these teacher mini grants help give students experiences that go beyond what is provided by state and local funding," said BSFEE Board President Edie Davidson. "Our Reverse Raffle helps us fund these creative projects, and is also a great night out for all involved!"
