Boardman boys beat East 65-48

The Spartans opened their 2018-2019 season with a great effort against Youngstown East. Trailing at halftime by 1, Boardman used great defensive pressure to force turnovers and open a 13-point lead after the third quarter. Boardman stayed steady in the fourth to finish the game.

Daeone Martin had huge night in his varsity debut with 24 points and five steals. Derrick Anderson had an equally monster second half scoring 19 points, finishing with 21 points overall to go along with five rebounds and six assists. Tommy Fryda had a solid overall effort with eight points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Cam Kreps effort was a difference maker on both ends of the floor, finishing with eight rebounds and two points. Charlie Davis played tough inside with five rebounds and five points. Shay Eicher and Zach Ryan played huge roles off the bench providing great energy and effort. Eicher added two points. Christian Stanley rounded out the scoring with one point.
