Poland U15 Boys Soccer team wins Madison Invitational

On Nov. 4, the Poland U15 boys travel soccer team won the 2018 Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament for the fourth consecutive year in a row by defeating rival Hubbard 3-2 in a penalty-kick shootout in the Red Division championship game played at the Stanton Community Park in Madison. Poland also defeated teams from Euclid, Chesterland West Geauga, and Painesville Riverside to advance to the championship game. The team, who were also both the Youngstown Area Youth Soccer League (YAYSL) regular season and tournament runner-ups this year, finished their season with an impressive 18-1-1 record on the year. Team members include, pictured in front, Joseph Hillyer, Aiden Davis, Matt Boccieri, Jacob Allsopp and Alex LaPlante. In the top row are assistant coach Rich Davis, Aidan Wire, Evan Antil, assistant coach Greg Maurer, Dante DeGenova, Carson Maurer, Antonio D'Alesio, Patrick Dambrogio, Andrew Slaven, Will Varley, Johnny Spagnola, Stephen Yerian and head coach Skip Slaven.
