Austintown Community Church welcomes John Fielding as its new Director of Student Ministries. Originally from the greater Akron area, Fielding studied vocal performance art and music education at the University of Akron where he honed his musical talent participating in ensembles. He graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, with a master of arts in theological studies. He and his wife Brooke, a teacher, enjoy being outdoors, hiking, swimming and bike riding.

Fielding brings to his new position experience serving various youth groups and as a counselor at Camp Carl, a Christian camp bordering West Branch State Park near Ravenna. He is enthusiastic about his plans for both ACC and the Austintown community, and is focused on encouraging young people to develop a desire for evangelism and discipleship. He believes students have a unique opportunity to serve as ambassadors of Christ because they share relevant life-stage experiences and are well positioned to reach their classmates on a personal level to share their faith.

"Evangelism by discipleship was at the center of Jesus' mission while on earth," Fielding said. "He did everything he could to help people recognize that, as the Son of God, he came to seek and save the lost and broken, and taught that we should do the same."
