The Boardman Boosters and the Stadium Project Committee announced a new $120,000 donation toward the completion of the third and final phase of the Spartan Stadium Project. The Committee believes this generous donation will fuel more donors to contribute as they close in on their final goal, which is to break ground in spring 2018.

The final phase of Spartan Stadium will include boys and girls locker rooms with a total of 134 lockers, a formal front faade with donor wall, concessions with eating area, public restrooms, and ticket booths. The total cost of the third phase has been estimated at $650,000.

Donors Bill and Karen Veri call themselves big Spartan football fans, as well as enthusiastic supporters of the Spartan Marching Band. This $120,000 donation is the second time that they have been instrumental in the overall Stadium Project. The Veri's $150,000 donation in 2016 funded the construction of the "Home of the Spartans" Band Shell. The couple lives in Boardman with their son Anthony, who attends Boardman Schools and is a member of the Spartan Marching Band.

"Community support continues to amaze us, and Bill and Karen Veri's contributions have been vital in keeping the Stadium Project moving as we close in on the finish line, said Boosters President Bruce Flyak "We want to remind everyone, about our locker campaign, and brick campaign, where you can also leave a legacy when you donate."
