Men and boys from local Boy Scout troops worked on setting up the camp site and displays over the weekend. They were preparing to showcase what Scouting is all about to those attending this year's Canfield Fair.

A group of local Scouts and leaders worked hard over the weekend to set up displays and prepare the Boy Scout Camp on the southeast corner of the fairgrounds. Members of Poland Troops 2 and 44, and Boardman Troop 54 were among those represented.

One committee member, Becky Black, was among those assisting in the set up. Black runs the information tent and has been on the Boy Scouts fair committee for more than 10 years.

"I have been involved in Scouts since my son John started [with Troop 44] 31 years ago," she said.

The set up includes the tent canopies where Black sets up information on Scouting. The displays include a Native American teepee, a rope bridge and an Australian boat swing.

Over the six days of the fair, various Scout troops will camp out and give demonstrations.

The schedule is:

Wednesday through Thursday morning: Poland Troop 44;

Thursday through Friday morning: Greenford / North Lima Troop 80;

Friday through Saturday morning: Youngstown Northside / Hubbard Troop 55, and all day Saturday: Struthers Troop 101 and Adventure Crew 101;

Saturday to Sunday morning: St. Christine Adventure Crew 22, and Berlin / Ellsworth Troop 71;

Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Boardman / Brownlee Woods Troop 54.
