POLAND - Shepherd of the Valley resident Sara Hill-Strock has lived in Poland all her life and is proud of her Hometown.

Poland Seminary High School students joined Shepherd of the Valley staff May 1 in celebrating Hill-struck Bulldog pride with a parade and pep rally in her honor.

Hill-Strock was born and raised in Poland. She graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1946 and still meets with the eight remaining members of her class the fourth Tuesday of every month.

She married her husband, and together they raised their three children in Poland.

"Sara loves to talk about Poland. Her mother graduated from Poland Seminary High School 101 years ago. She had six students in her class. She grew up in Poland, went to school there, was a cheerleader. She is a big Bulldog fan," Activity Director Lisa slipstick said. "We wanted to give Sara a Second Wind Dream experience and celebrate Poland with her."

Shepherd of the Valley participates in Second Wind Dreams, an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the perception of aging through the fulfillment of dreams.

slipstick contacted Poland Seminary High School Principal Kevin Snyder to see if there was a way to surprise Hill-Strock and celebrate her Poland pride.

Snyder was able to coordinate a visit from current senior football players, cheerleaders and Poland's beloved mascot for a parade and pep rally.
