The Holy Family Parish Pastoral Council will sponsor two sessions on topics that impact families in the Mahoning Valley.

A panel discussion on "Addiction Awareness" will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Holy Family Parish Center, 2729 Center Road, Youngstown.

The "Addiction Awareness" panel will include Mahoning County Juvenile Court Judge Theresa Dellick; Todd Marian, COO of Help Hotline; Carolyn Givens, executive director of Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic; Dr. Sitarik of Gateway Rehabilitation Center; and Bob Hannon, president of the Youngstown-Mahoning Valley United Way.

Members of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will present a program on "Human Trafficking Awareness" 7 to 9 p.m. May 22 in the Holy Family Parish Center.

Both sessions are free and open to the public, and doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

Questions for panel members will be accepted during the presentations. Questions submitted anonymously will also be accepted and addressed as time permits.

Considering the subject matter, both sessions are targeted to participants 18 years of age and older.

The problems of addiction and human trafficking are very serious issues confronting our families. Both panels will delve into the magnitude of each problem, how to recognize a victim, steps to take to address the situation and the many programs offered for those impacted.
