The Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley office, the regional chapter of the Autism Society of America, is the benefit of a the second annual Mike Hull Memorial Poker Run and Pasta Dinner for Autism on Saturday. The event offers the entire family an afternoon of fun and activities, including free bowling for the kids from 3 to 5 p.m. at Mahoning Valley Lanes, 2617 Mahoning Ave., with DJ Crazy.
There also will be live music at 5 p.m. and a 50 / 50 raffle and Chinese auction.
Mike Hull was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather of a granddaughter on the autism spectrum who he cherished. He also was a musician who loved playing and donated his time and talent to organizations in need.
Hull's generosity did not stop when he died in 2012 but continued by becoming an organ donor, and his generous gift helped hundreds. The annual bike run is a way for Hull to continue to help those in need.
The schedule is as follows:
* 11 a.m. -- registration
* 11:45 a.m. -- blessing of the bikes
* noon -- run begins at The Dash Inn and proceeds to Styx, Sail In, Flying Pig Saloon, Double Deuce and ends at Strikers at Mahoning Valley Lanes.
* 5 p.m. -- Run ends and live music begins
The event costs $10 per person and includes a food ticket, music and more. All proceeds will support the programming of the Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley office.
