White House offers cooking contest

July 31, 2014
The Town Crier

White House Fruit Farm in Canfield will hold a unique cooking contest in which all recipes will be limited to the same main ingredients revealed only days before the event.

The second Farm-Fresh Cook-Off Challenge will take place Aug. 9 at the farm. Pre-registered contestants will not know the ingredients they will be working with until they pick up their ingredient bags between Aug. 6-8.

Completed dishes accompanied by a written recipe must be delivered to the farm by 12:30 p.m. Aug. 9.

The entry fee is $20 ($10 of which will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank), and the fee and entry form must be received by 5 p.m. Monday.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. The total number of entries will be limited to 75.

For entry forms, rules and additional information, go to www.whitehousefruitfarm.com.
