Retiree honored for more than 30 years of service

The Canfield Board of Education honored licensed retiree Lesley Butler at the recent meeting. Butler put in over 30 years of teaching at Canfield High School and handled the ninth grade honors class.

''I moved to Canfield 37 years ago,'' she said. ''I drove by the high school that year and said I wanted to work here.''

She did just that and was hired as a licensed teacher. Over the years, she brought a special knack to her classroom. She knew how to keep students interested in class, according to CHS principal John Tullio.
