Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown was the setting on June 28 for the summer wedding of Thomas Christopher Smith and his bride, Theresa Ruth Mottle.
The Very Reverend Gregory Maturi, O.P., officiated the nuptial Mass at 2 p.m. and united the daughter of George and Deborah Mottle of Boardman and the son of Gerald and Susan Smith of Poland.
A reception was held at Fellows Riverside Gardens in the D.D. and Velma Davis Center.

The couple traveled to Maroma Beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico, for the wedding trip.
The bride wore an Allure Couture white, strapless, slim-fitted gown, featuring a sweetheart neckline, English net, embroidered lace applique throughout, and a sweep train. Her veil was trimmed in sequins and pearls. Her tiara was vintage style with Swarovski crystals, and she carried a bouquet of white hydrangea, peonies and pink roses.
Sherry Karis of Austintown was the bride's matron of honor, and her bridesmaids were Angela Speece Morra of St. Louis, Jennifer DiLisio of Diamond, Bette Morar of Boardman, Jessica Yanchick of Poland and Gabriella Yuhasz of Newark. They wore lavender chiffon gowns and carried white hydrangeas and lavender roses. The flower girl was Kaitlyn Yuhasz of Newark.
Serving as best man was David Rispinto of Berea. Groomsmen included brother of the groom Jeff Smith of New Middletown, Matthew DiLisio of Diamond, Christopher Martin of Poland and Dillon Marx of Hubbard. Ring bearers included Gino DiLisio and Rocco DiLisio of Canfield.
The couple graduated from Youngstown State University. The bride received a bachelor's degree in integrated language arts secondary education and a master's degree in English with a certificate in literature for children and young adults. She is a high school English teacher at Poland Seminary High School.
The groom received a bachelor's degree in marketing management. He works for Springfield Restaurant Group and is general manager at Springfield Grille in Mercer, Pa.
The couple have made their home in Poland.
