Diamondback Golf Course was overflowing with golfers on July 5 for the third annual Till Open. It not only saw a full slate of golfers, but the outing brought in a record number of dollars that will go back to the schools to help booster organizations and provide scholarships.

''We expect to be able to donate nearly $20,000 this year back to Canfield Schools,'' said Richard Duffett, Till Open committee member. ''That is unofficial, but registration, gifts and donations have been through the roof!''

He said two years ago, the committee was donated $8,000, and last year, it was up to $11,000. This year has been the best since the Till Open was formed.

The golf outing started with breakfast, followed by an opening ceremony. During the ceremony, several deceased Canfield alumni were featured in a memorial tribute. The 2014 memorials included Doug Anderson, Brian Bjorson, Roy ''Busty'' Denny, Rudy and Joyce Hickman, Lt. Vernon Hood in the U.S. Navy, Tom and Glenna McCabe, Kevin McCabe, Marcia Moeller, Tony Murphy and Steve Soyka.
