Camelot Lanes of Boardman offers an after school bowling program experience weekdays during the school year for students in first through eighth grades.
The experience includes transportation from the school, coaching led by retired PBA tour professional Jack Bruderly, refreshments, games and more.
The program runs in two sessions throughout the school year. At the end of each session, there is a competition that the students have an opportunity to participate in called the Challenge Cup.
Students have an opportunity to be chosen based upon the following criteria: their score average, hard work, attendance, coach-ability and sportsmanship.
This year's spring Challenge Cup was held in May prior to the end of the school year. Over 95 students from 14 different schools throughout the Mahoning County participated.
The two winning teams for the day were from Market Street Elementary School and Boardman Center Middle School. Pictured are those winners. In front row are Alec Gryzb, John Burton, Frank Bartolec and Carson Essad. In back row are Jacob Fishbeck, Nathan Needham, Brandon Mackovick, Tyler Peterson, Charlie Davis, Joey Johns, Lexus Petrich and Alayna Turillo.
