Guest speakers at the June 23 meeting were George and Dorothy Meleski from the 20/9 Amateur Radio Club. The group has existed since 1952, with the unique ability to use designated radio signals for private recreation, non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self training, and emergency communication.
They have volunteered their services for the Canfield Fair, Austintown Fourth of July celebration, Senior Fair, Relay for Life and Awesometown, and are currently working with the OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology and the STEM program at Austintown Middle School.
They encouraged the Rotary to help with their fundraising effort for a new repeater, cable, and other equipment to replace their 30-year-old models.
