Girl Scouts visit Chicago

July 10, 2014

Special to the Town Crier
To celebrate five years as a Girl Scout Troop, the Holy Family Girls Scouts and their mothers took a trip to Chicago as a final activity. The girls are pictured near the infamous coffee bean in the heart of Chicago.
The troop also visited Shedd Aquarium, Willis (Sears) Tower, Navy Pier, and the Museum of Science and Industry. The girls enjoyed a double decker bus tour, an architectural boat tour, an adventure on a Tall Ship, and personal shopping time on Michigan Avenue.
Pictured are Lucia Naples, Caitie Palusak, Megan Brockway, Madison Richey, Chloe Mershimer, Taylor Creighton, Leanne Chandler, Gia Diorio, Annie Daprile, Sophia Graziano, Lucy Graziano, Ava Szalay, Anna Wollet, Audrey Kali, Augusta Fox, Victoria Butera, Veronica Brown and Haley DiLullo.
Troop leaders are Michelle DiLullo, Lisa Daprile and Tina Kali.
The girls began their Girl Scout experience in the first grade as Daisies, became Brownies, and have just completed fifth grade as Junior Girl Scouts. Throughout the five years as a troop, the girls have participated in service projects, volunteered in the community, created several crafts, and each planned their own meeting.
The trip to Chicago, which the girls were able to attend thanks to profits from cookie sales, was a wonderful way to end their Girl Scout experience.
