Troop 25 recognizes scouts at summer Court of Honor

Boy Scout Troop 25 chartered to Canfield United Methodist Church recognized Scouts and adults at its summer Court of Honor on June 26 in the Fellowship Hall at the church.

The summer Court of Honor acknowledges the Scouts who have earned rank advancements, merit badges and other awards in Scouting since the February Court of Honor.

Everyone was welcomed by the Troop Committee Chairman Mr. John Kightlinger who served as Master of Ceremonies. The Court of Honor was opened by the troop's color guard.

Boy Scouts of Canfield's Troop 25 who recently hiked the Zoar Valley Trail are Tyler Amendolea, Tanner Tsvetkoff, Hunter Amendolea, Trevor Hykes, Luke Bowser, Patrick Nielson, Matthew Mosier, Bryan Griffiths, Isaac Wood and Jacob Kuszaj.

Scouts being recognized that evening and their recognitions were Hunter Amendolea, engineering merit badge; Tyler Amendolea, engineering merit badge; Luke Bowser, Star Award, engineering and personal management merit badges; Mason Donatelli, Tenderfoot Award; Evan McNally, Scout Award; Thomas McNally, Scout Award; and Tanner Tsvetkoff, engineering merit badge.

The 32nd annual Mill Creek MetroParks Earth Day cleanup certificates and ribbons were presented to 15 Scouts: Pat Byrne, Luke Bowser, Steven Deak, Zach Gierlach, Bryan Griffiths, Trevor Hovanec, Hunter Hykes, Trevor Hykes, Jacob Kuszaj, Thomas McNally, Matt Mosier, Pat Nielson, Tanner Tsvetkoff, Adrian Willoughby and Isaac Wood.

Fifteen Scouts and one Webelos Scout hiked the 10-mile Mill Creek MetroParks Boy Scout trail in May earning the newly designed trail patch. Those Scouts were Hunter Amendolea, Tyler Amendolea, Evan Bowser, Luke Bowser, Steven Deak, Prab Dhaliwal, Bryan Griffiths, Trevor Hovanec, Hunter Hykes, Trevor Hykes, Jacob Kuszaj, Matt Mosier, Matt Nielson, Pat Nielson, Tanner Tsvetkoff and Isaac Wood.

The troop recently hiked the Zoar Valley Trail located at Camp Tuscazoar in Zoarville, Ohio, with 10 Scouts and six adults participating. The 10 Scouts earning the Zoar Valley Trail patch were Hunter Amendolea, Tyler Amendolea, Luke Bowser, Bryan Griffiths, Trevor Hykes, Jacob Kuszaj, Matt Mosier, Pat Nielson, Tanner Tsvetkoff and Isaac Wood.

Troop 25s other calendar events included the Canfield Fourth of July parade. Upcoming events are the summer camp in July at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation in Kensington, Ohio; Allegheny River canoe trip in August; weekend camping trip in September; first class and above backpacking trip to Minister Creek, Pa.; and a cooking weekend camping trip in October.
