Male prisoners making quilts

June 26, 2014
The Town Crier
Photo Special to the Town Crier
Pictured is Barbara King, assistant warden at the Lorain correctional facility, displaying a quilt made by a male inmate at the Grafton Correctional Institution. A select group of inmates are chosen for the quilting program, and all quilts are donated to charities. King recently spoke to members of That Quilt Group I Belong To, of Canfield, and displayed a variety of quilts made by the inmates in the program. All of the fabric and supplies for the program are donated by quilt groups, quilt stores and individuals. No state funds are used for this program.
