The Town Crier

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, and the Comprehensive Car Center will be testing at the American Red Cross on Belmont Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Walgreens on McCartney Road from 10 a.m. to noon, and at the Walgreens on Midlothian Boulevard from noon to 3 p.m.

The testing is free to the public and for ages 13 and older. It is a swab test. Results will be in that day, and all tests are confidential.

The Comprehensive Care Center is a HIV / AIDS clinic in the Youngstown / Warren area run by the Ursuline Sisters. It has approximately 250 patients which it provides health care for.

The center also has been doing community outreach to educate and raise awareness about HIV / AIDS. It has employees that test at different agencies throughout the Mahoning Valley. Some of the testing sites it goes to each month includes YSU, CCA, Red Cross, Walgreens, Youngstown Mission and the Warren Family Mission.
