Boardman grad chosen for three-year fellowship

Dr. Emily Pennington has been selected for a three-year fellowship program in pulmonary / critical care at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., after completing a residency in internal medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Dr. Pennington is a 2002 graduate of Boardman High School. She earned a bachelor of science in molecular and cellular biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and her doctorate of medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

She presented her research abstract on ''Differences Among Physicians in the Treatment of Asthma Exacerbations in Pregnant Women'' at the 2013 American Thoracic Society International Conference in Philadelphia.
