Superheroes support cancer fight:

A staff vs. student basketball game was held at Austintown Fitch High School to raise funds for five-year-old Brayden Mitchell, who is battling stage 3 kidney cancer. The event raised $1,101.

The game was played in the Austintown Middle School gymnasium. Mitchell, who is a fan of superheroes, requested that everyone come dressed in their favorite superhero outfits.

A special thank you went out to all involved for the support with messages of hope to Brayden Mitchell, donations and participation.

''Our school district and community gave this young boy hope in his battle,'' said high school teacher Steve Ward.

The event was organized by Ward's seventh period life literature class at Fitch High School.
