OSU Extension-Mahoning County will be hosting ''Eating Smart, Being Active'' classes presented by the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program starting 5:30 p.m. June 9. Classes will be conducted every Monday until July 14.
The ''Eating Smart, Being Active'' classes are designed to help families who have children in the home, or who help care for children ages 0-18 years old. The hands-on curriculum targets families who are on a restricted budget or low income, make healthier choices regarding nutrition, physical activity within the family, food safety, resource management, management of food dollars and parenting.
Class participants will receive educational incentives, food tastings, as well as recipe ideas at each class. Classes are free.
