The Town Crier

Super hero fundraiser set:

A staff versus students basketball fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. May 27 in the Austintown Middle School gymnasium to benefit Brayden Mitchell, 5, who is battling stage-3 kidney cancer. Mitchell who is a fan of superheroes, has requested everyone to come dressed in their favorite superhero outfits. The event was organized by Steve Ward's seventh period life literature class at Fitch High School.

Student art to be displayed:

The Austintown Fitch High School Art Department will be having a public display of student work through May 27 at the Austintown Public Library.

The artworks will be available for viewing during regular library hours.

Art teachers attended the show Wednesday and at that time the public had the opportunity to vote for the Austintown People's Choice Awards for Best in Show. Three pieces with the most votes were named as show winners.

The public is invited to view the exhibit.
