The Town Crier

The Spartan baseball team suffered through losses last week to North Canton Hoover 3-2 and Austintown Fitch 8-6 and 8-5.

In game one of the Fitch double header, the Spartans held a 65 lead going into the sixth inning. After getting the first two batters out on the sixth, the falcons pushed three runs across. Brian Fryda and Gino Beato had two hits each for Boardman. Phil Diianni and Lou Cardona each doubled. Scott Lendak had two RBIs.

Game two had the Spartans holding leads of 2-0 and 5-3 before Fitch took the lead in the fifth inning and held on. Phil Diianni had three hits while Brian Fryda and Scott Lendak had two each.
