Fun Run and Walk to be held at park:

The third annual Fitness Together 5k Run & Walk will be held May 10 in Mill Creek MetroParks. The event will begin at 9 a.m. The race will begin at the James L. Wick Jr. Recreation Area, 1861 McCollum Road, Youngstown, and participants will follow a 3.1 mile loop through Mill Creek MetroParks. All ages and ability levels are welcome at this walk/run, and awards will be given to the top three finishers in various age groups and the overall male / overall female finisher. Entry fee is $15 on or before May 9 and $20 on race day. All participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt and gift bag.

Lane Funeral Homes host food drive:

Lane Family Funeral Home in Trumbull and Mahoning counties are sponsoring a food drive until June 20 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Nonperishable food items may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Mineral Ridge Chapel, Austintown Chapel, Boardman Chapel, Shafer-Winans Chapel, Roberts-Clark Chapel, Madasz Chapel or Niles Chapel. The associates from the funeral homes will volunteer at Second Harvest on June 25, to assist in packing the food for distribution.

Men's Rally Saturday at Covelli Center:

Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander of A&E's "Duck Dynasty" is the guest at this year's Men's Rally in the Valley.

Also included in the event will be Mike Singletary. The Men's Rally in the Valley will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Covelli Center. The cost is $30 and includes a camouflage wristband and a box lunch. Go to www.mensrally.org for ticket locations or to buy online.

The Men's Rally in the Valley, a nonprofit event, is hosted by Men of Faith and is open to all men.

Suicide awareness walk to be held in Warren:

Seventh annual Survivors of Suicide Awareness Walk will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. May 17 at Trumbull County Courthouse Gazebo, in Courthouse Square in Warren. Families, friends and the public are invited to attend and are urged to bring photos or signs to highlight the loss of loved ones to suicide. A part of the program will be to read names of those who died by suicide. Submit names to cgrizinski@helphotline.org

The event is sponsored by: Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide; Help Hotline Crisis Center In.; and Survivors of Suicide of Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
