Photo special to the Town Crier
Twenty volunteers from the Boardman Lions Club and the Boardman High School National Honor Society cleaned the section of Southern Boulevard from Maple Street to Western Reserve Road in a two-hour sweep planned in conjunction with the Green Team. In all, 72 large garbage bags of debris were gathered, in addition to wood shelving, hub caps, a stop sign, Christmas trees and car bumpers. The project was part of the Lions Club Road Crew committee that also cleans the Market Street corridor and the welcome sign plantings. Participating Boardman Lions were King Lion Bill Rausch, event organizers Joni Blase and Terry Shears, Nancy Golubic, Judy Jones, Ed Metzel, Cheryl Metzel, Henry Koch, and Brad Calhoun. Boardman High School National Honor Society volunteers pictured from left are: Jon Michael Dana, Donnie Dempsey, Don DiIllulo, Matt Stark, Kaye Moyer, Caroline Constantinovich, Marcus Smith, Andrew Cessna, Kristina Nguyen, Leandrah Hunt and Brandon Rigelsky.
