Rangers learn of nursing careers

Marlene Mikan and Remi Mikan of Canfield and Delorean Jones of Austintown pose during the April meeting of the Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club. Mikan was a guest speaker who related information about the variety of health and nursing careers that are available today. Other Ranger 4-H Club advisers with nursing degrees include Karen Day, Robin and Steve Reph, Amelia Shrader and soon to be nursing graduate Amanda Majirsky. Members and parents were also reminded at the meeting of upcoming summer judging events that include Clothing Judging and the Fashion Revue July 7 at the Canfield Presbyterian Church, the Small Projects Judging Event in the Hay and Grain Building on the Canfield Fairgrounds July 7, and Food and Nutrition Judging on July 21 at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Following the meeting Recreation Leaders Olivia Haid and Camille Kirk had an indoor egg hunt for everyone. Western Reserve Rangers will next be marching in the Berlin Township Memorial Day Parade May 25. The Rangers will meet again at 7 p.m. May 8.
