The Chancel Choir of Poland Presbyterian Church, 1 Manor Drive, under the direction of Errol Kehrberg is preparing a special Good Friday service to which the community is invited. The Choral Tenebrae, 'A Service of Darkness,' by Dale Wood is a choral meditation on the seven last words of Christ. Organist will be Larry Harris, professor at Youngstown State University Dana School of Music. The word tenebrae is from the Latin for 'shadows' or 'darkness.' What distinguishes a tenebrae ceremony is that candles are extinguished gradually throughout the service until the sanctuary is almost in complete darkness. The service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in the church sanctuary. Pictured is the Poland Presbyterian Chancel Choir under the direction Errol Kehrberg.
