Officials deliver meals to seniors

April 10, 2014
The Town Crier

Austintown administrator Michael Dockry, along with public officials from throughout Mahoning County, participated in the Meals on Wheels national March for Meals campaign on March 19. The theme for this year's campaign is ''No Senior Goes Hungry.''

Meals on Wheels of Mahoning County delivers nutritious, balanced meals to 105 clients. The recipients are mostly senior citizens or disabled persons. The food these clients receive enables many of them to stay in their homes.

One of the most important features of Meals on Wheels is the human contact the clients have with the volunteer drivers. For some, the driver is the only person they see in a day.
