Football players lend a hand

March 27, 2014
The Town Crier

The Boardman High School Football program will lend a hand lifting products for vendors and patrons at the Boardman Gridiron Spring Arts & Crafts Show, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Boardman High School.

Many vendors choose to participate in the craft show specifically because the players are present to help unload and load their products into the gymnasium. One vendor noted that no other craft show in the area offers this kind of service and that the boy's represent their school and community well. BHS Cheerleaders will also lend a hand throughout the day.

The team notched an impressive ninth straight win at the Columbiana Powerlifting Championship earlier this month by beating 25 other schools to take first place, lifting over 12,000 pounds combined. Two Boardman players were named meet MVP's including Koby Adu-Poku in the lightweight division and Evan Croutch in the Heavyweight class.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Boardman football and cheerleading programs. The event will also feature a Basket Raffle, 50/50 drawings, and concessions. Admission is free.
