Austintown Middle School seventh-graders Mason Levin, Jack D'amico, Brandon Malahtaris took part in the Marshmallow Challenge in the school's 'Project Lead the Way' technology class last week. They built a free-standing tower with 20 pieces of spaghetti, one yard of string, one yard of masking tape and a marshmallow. The goal was to build a tower to hold the marshmallow as high as possible. The three young designers' finished product registered a height of 34.5 inches and set the 2014 record.
