Boardman Township Park is sponsoring the 37th annual Maple Syrup Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and March 29 and 30. Admission is free.
Park staff will demonstrate how maple trees are tapped and well as how sap is collected and boiled to make syrup. Maple syrup will be available for purchase.
Other events include a Civil War reenactment, wood carvers, Boardman Historical Society and displays by artists from the Water Color Society, who will be selling their art. Participants also can enjoy a wagon ride through the park trails. Boy Scout Troop #60 will be demonstrating scouting skills and a basket raffle will be held to benefit the troop.
A pancake breakfast will be served by the the Boardman Rotary Club. The cost is $6 per person and free for children 6 and younger.
