Rotary supports STEM

March 13, 2014
The Town Crier
 Special to the Town Crier
Austintown Middle School STEM representative Taylor Posey stopped by the Austintown Rotary meeting on March 3 to tell the group a little about the school's STEM Program, and their participation in the upcoming soapbox derby in Akron. Austintown student teams will not only be designing their own car, but also their logo and other collateral such as banners and T-shirts.
Promoting the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) initiative in education through gravity racing, the GRC program is designed to provide kindergarten through 12th-grade educators and students with meaningful project- and standards-based inter-curricular learning opportunities.
Pictured is Posey receiving a donation check from Rotary President Mark Cole to go towards the STEM program.
