Capt. Chadwick sworn in as MOAA officer

Captain Brian C. Chadwick, USMC. Ret. was sworn into office by the Honorable Robert P. Milich, Youngstown Municipal Court judge and retired Lieutenant Colonel U.S. Air Force as the Second Vice President of the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MSVC-MOAA) on Jan. 23.

The ceremony took place at an installation dinner held Jan. 23 at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. Chadwick joined the local chapter in 2012 although he has been a national member of MOAA since 1990. As the second vice president his primary responsibility will be chapter membership.

Upon graduating from Mount Olive College in business administration, Chadwick served 23 years of distinguished active duty service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received his commission in the rank of captain through the Marine Corps LDO Program after serving as a warrant officer. Among his varied military assignments, Chadwick was an instructor at Senior Marine Aviation Logistics School in Meridian, Miss., served as Fiscal Officer in Japan for Marine Air Group 15, and an Aviation Logistics Officer for the Marine Air Control Group 49 in Glenview, Ill.

Chadwick is retired after 15 years of employment with K & M International as general manager of administration and operations. As a member of the Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club, the American Legion, and the Marine Corps League, he is involved in serving the local community. He and his wife, Frances, reside in Canfield.

The MSVC-MOAA meets at 6 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, 3976 King Graves Road, Vienna, where Chadwick serves as member ship chairman. He can be reached at 330-402-2428.
