Canfield Township Trustees are accepting resumes from township residents who would like to serve as an alternate on the Township's Zoning Commission Board.
Currently there are two alternate positions available. Applicants must be available to attend meetings that take place the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Hall.
The deadline for applying is March 21. Resumes should be sent to Canfield Township, 21 S. Broad St., Canfield.
The Zoning Commission is a legislative advisory body that hears or makes suggested amendments to the township zoning resolutions and provides recommendations to the trustees to approve or deny zoning amendments or requested changes. These members help to establish goals, objectives and strategies to guide development in the township.
The role of the alternate member is to attend meetings and in the absence of a regular board member to vote on any matter that may come before the board. The primary qualification for board members is a desire to serve the community.
The procedure will be that the Zoning Commission will review the resumes and then present recommendations to the Canfield Township Board of Trustees Stephen Maszczak, Marie Izzo Cartwright and Brian Governor who will consider the Zoning Commission's recommendations and make the appointments.
