To celebrate Black History Month, the students of Dana Zarlenga-Buist's fourth grade class chose to research a famous African-American. They were to complete research, create a poster and give an oral presentation of their selected individual. Having a family connection, one student chose to research Jerry Rice. As part of the oral presentation, Zarlenga- Buist's and the students parents set up a time for Rice to conduct a Face Time session with the class. Rice spoke to the students for about 15 minutes discussing his career in the NFL and being a part of three Super Bowl Championships. The students also had the opportunity to ask him questions. Rice stressed the importance of having a good education and that it should come first in their futures. Pictured listening to Rice are students, in front, Bryce Ratliff-Wadolowski and Breana Lucas, and in back Tobias Smith, Elena Martin, and Joshua Yoon.
