Poland's Mike Audi, 170 lb senior and ranked seventh in the State for Division 2 by Intermat Ohio, defeated Division 3 State ranked Nick Cardiero of Girard by a 3 to 1 score to become the 2014 EOWL Champion.
"I really wanted this one and I knew if I wrestled smart and kept the pressure on him I could wear him down," said Audi who is 30-4 on the year and working toward a repeat trip to the State Tournament in Columbus.
Poland's had one runner up at the 160 lb weight class who was Mike's younger brother sophomore Anthony Audi, whose only loss of the day was in the championship match to Howland's Jordan Radich.

The Bulldog's other tournament placers were sophomore Dante Ginnetti third at 106 lb. defeating Alec Schopher of West Branch along with two fifth place finishers 120 lb Darren Goodin and 138 lb Bruno Spotleson followed by three wrestlers placing sixth, which included 126 lb Anthony Morucci, 145 lb Dave Esarco and 195 lb Abe Kassem.
The team placed fifth out of 21 teams competing in the tournament over the weekend. The Dogs will have a week off in preparation for the 2014 sectional tournament to be held in West Branch beginning Feb. 14.
