Max S. Morrow, son of Pat and Cheryl Thompson-Morrow of Boardman, recently received his Eagle Scout award at a court-of-honor ceremony at Boardman United Methodist Church.
Max began his scouting career with Cub Scout Pack 60 in 2002, and received his Arrow of Light Award in 2007. He became a member of Troop 46 in 2007, a part of the Greater Western Reserve Council, meeting at Boardman United Methodist Church with scoutmaster Eric Grabman. Max received the Order of Arrow award in 2008 and has earned 33 merit badges.
His Eagle Scout service project included installing a concrete foundation to hold a granite memorial bench in Boardman Cemetery. The cemetery dates to 1805 when Elijah Boardman donated the land to be used as a cemetery. Max installed a new flagpole with a solar light and landscaped the area with perennial flowers.
A senior at Boardman High School, Max is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science Club, Spanish Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Model U.N. He was a member of the varsity tennis and golf teams and had served as co-captain of the golf team.
He also is a four year member of the Classical Orchestra where he plays the violin and is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where, in addition to the Order of the Arrow Wapashui Lodge, he is the treasurer for the Teenage Conservatives.
