Spikers top Youngstown Christian

Boardman Glenwood Middle School's seventh-grade volleyball team improved their record to 2-1 by defeating Youngstown Christian 25-7 and 25-17. Hannah Nawrocki led the team in sets with Brigita Ositis also setting strong. The eighth grade team also improved their record to 2-1 by beating Youngstown Christian 19-25, 25-7, and 25-14. Emma Hough was strong offensively while Riley Zawrotuk led with sets.

Football team whips Warren

Boardman Glenwood's football team defeated the Warren Raiders at Spartan Stadium 16-12 last week. Brad Boerio led the defensive effort with a 65-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Also recovering fumbles for the Spartans were John Fleet and Clayton Wehr. Noah Falleti also contributed to a strong Glenwood defense with an interception, while he also led the offensive charge with a 70-yard touchdown run. DeCosta Baptiste ran in the 2-point conversion to cap the Glenwood scoring. The team is coached by Vince Carnevale and Nick Colla.
