Canfield girls headed to World Series

August 9, 2013
Town Crier

Rain hampered their rush toward the Central Division title, but the Canfield girls softball team didn't let a downpour dash their hopes.

After beginning the championship game against Portage, Mich., on Wednesday, Aug. 7, the team was tied with no score and a storm ended the game.

Coming back on Thursday, the teams fought through eight innings of play trying to break a one-run tie when Maddy Johns knocked in Amelia Manenti to win the championship and keep the team undefeated at 40-0.
