St. Michael's parish and Boy Scout Troop 115 will hold a music festival fundraiser to drill water wells for Haitian communities from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at St. Michael Church in Canfield.
"Yell for the Well" will be an all-day festival with fair food, kids games, a Chinese auction, and live music that all ages can enjoy. The featured bands are currently the Jukehounds at noon, Johnny Grim and the Ordinary Saints at 1:10 p.m., JD Eicher and the Goodnights at 2:20 p.m., the Classic Cruisers at 3:30 p.m., the Lords of Leisure at 4:40 p.m., Spencer Saylor and Chris Jamison at 5:50 p.m. and the Dickey White Band at 7 p.m.
In Haiti, millions of people lack access to safe drinking water, and thousands more die from diseases caused by drinking dirty and unsafe water. Nick Crescimanno is planning this event for his Eagle Scout project with the help of Food for the Poor, a relief organization that provides aid to South and Central American countries. If the goal of $5,300 is reached, Food for the Poor will double the funds to provide an additional water well.
